“Every couple has an emotional dance.

The key is

learning

how to change

the steps.”

If You Want To…

  • Transform destructive patterns

  • Heal past wounds

  • Enhance intimacy and communication

  • Rebuild trust and stability

  • Reignite a vibrant partnership

Here’s What I Offer For

Couples

I help partners who feel disconnected, stuck in painful cycles, or unsure how to move forward in their relationship. Many couples come to me feeling unheard, emotionally distant, or caught in repetitive conflict—but also deeply longing to feel close, safe, and understood again.

My approach is grounded in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT), an evidence-based model that helps you identify the negative patterns that keep you apart and create new, secure ways of relating.

I create a compassionate, non-judgmental space where both partners can express their needs, fears, and emotions without blame. We’ll explore the deeper attachment needs driving your conflict, unpack wounds from past hurts or betrayals, and work toward rebuilding trust, intimacy, and connection.

Whether you're navigating issues of communication, infidelity, parenting, life transitions, or emotional distance, therapy can help you reconnect—not just as partners, but as allies. You don’t have to stay stuck in the same fights or feel like you're growing apart. Change is possible when both partners are willing to show up.

My role is to guide you toward understanding, healing, and a renewed sense of closeness. If you still care about each other, there is hope—and I’m here to help you find your way back.

It’s too risky to figure it out alone.

Let me help you rekindle your love for each other.

Healing is possibleand couples therapy can help you reconnect with that truth.

FAQs

About Therapy

  • Psychotherapy offers a safe, supportive space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It helps you build insight, develop coping strategies, and foster healthier relationships—with yourself and others.

  • Given my highly tailored approach to therapy, there is no “one size fits all” answer to that question. The answer may depend on how deep you want to go, as well as how many issues you’d like to work on.

It also depends on how much work you’re willing to put into making changes in your life. Also, a single session could be life-changing, and at the same time it might take time to feel completely comfortable with me. You don’t need to trust me in order for good therapy to happen. Most clients report noticing some level of improvement or benefit after around 3-10 sessions.

  • I identify as Christian and have training and experience helping clients within a Christian framework. Most importantly, however, is that I am trained and skilled to work with anyone of any faith background while offering understanding, compassion, and validation.

  • Most clients prefer weekly, though some clients may opt for bi-weekly, monthly, or even more than once a week. It all depends on a few factors, including time, the severity of the issue, the urgency of the issue, the recency of the issue, and of course your budget. Because many clients will start therapy when their concerns are quite severe, most clients will start with a higher frequency of sessions to work on the issues, and then reduce the frequency overtime to maintain the growth. Feel free to discuss this question with me during our consultation.

  • For sure! You can book a no-commitment free consultation here. During the 15-minute consultation, you can ask me as many questions as you’d like to ensure that this is the right fit for you.

  • My approach is integrative. I draw from attachment theory and trauma-informed care, specifically using:

    • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

    • Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

    • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

    • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

    • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

    • Mindfulness-Based Techniques

I will tailor my approach depending on your needs. If there’s a specific modality you’d like to try, feel free to let me know during the consultation.

  • I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and families navigating attachment wounds, trauma, anxiety, depression, communication struggles, and relationship challenges. I also work with clients diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) or those experiencing intense emotional dysregulation.

  • You lead busy lives - I get it. Even if we see each other for a one hour session every single week, that’s only one hour out of 168. That’s less than .6% of your week! The remaining 99.4% is spent outside of therapy. For change to happen through therapy, I believe that the work must continue outside of our sessions. This is why I will often encourage you to continue reflecting throughout the week, and practice some of the things we worked on.

Working Together

  • You’re welcome to book a free 15-minute consultation here to ask questions and get a feel for my approach before committing to full sessions.

  • Item descriptionYour first session is about getting to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, your goals, and how I can support you. You don’t need to have it all figured out—just come as you are.

It’s normal to feel nervous or overwhelmed. Starting therapy can feel vulnerable. I aim to create a calm, welcoming space where we move at your pace.

  • I work with children, teens, adults, couples, and sometimes families (depending on the case). My work is inclusive and trauma-informed. If you have any questions, feel free to book a commitment-free consultation here.

  • Yes, I offer secure, HIPAA-compliant online therapy sessions to clients located in Ontario. I use Jane.app for virtual therapy. All you need is a stable internet connection and a private space.

Fees & Policies

    • Individual sessions: $200 / 50 minutes

    • Couples & Family sessions: $300 / 50 minutes

      • It’s recommended to book 1.5 hour session to ensure that everyone gets support within the session.

Psychotherapy is tax exempt, so there is no HST added, and there are no additional fees.

If this rate makes therapy inaccessible for you, please let me know, and I may be able to offer a reduced rate. My goal is that money is never a barrier to accessing therapy.

  • The preferred method of payment is through e-transfer to admin@janettechu.ca. However, it is possible to use credit card if necessary.

  • I provide receipts that can be submitted for reimbursement if your provider covers psychotherapy with a registered psychotherapist. Please check with your insurer to confirm your coverage. You are covered for a certain amount as long as your insurance policy covers “Registered Psychotherapist” (RP). It may also fall under “Psychotherapy”, “Mental Health”, “Counselling”, or even “Marriage Counselling”.

  • Cancellations or reschedules require 48 hours' notice. This is so that the session slot can be freed up for another client. Late cancellations or missed appointments will be billed at half the session rate.

Confidentiality &

Safety

  • Absolutely not. My practice is grounded in compassion and nonjudgment. I work with many clients who carry deep wounds from early relationships or live with intense emotional experiences. You’re welcome here.

    • Yes, confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. What you share stays between us, with a few legal exceptions related to safety and mandatory reporting (e.g., harm to self or others, child abuse).
